More Than a Festival
A celebration of Latin American culture, community and belonging in Tauranga.
Our Story
The Latin American Spring Festival began as a small Chilean community celebration in Tauranga — a way to share traditions, food, music and dance with friends far from home.
What started as a local gathering grew year after year into one of New Zealand’s largest celebrations of Latin American culture, welcoming people from across Aotearoa to experience the colours, flavours, rhythms and stories of Latin America.
Today, the festival brings together artists, performers, food vendors, artisans, families, businesses and community groups in a vibrant day of music, dance, food, culture and connection.
We don’t bring an exhibition to the city. We bring the celebration.
The People Behind the Festival
Behind the festival is a passionate group of organisers, volunteers, artists, vendors and community members who believe culture is best shared through connection.
From its early days as a small Chilean celebration to the wider Latin American Spring Festival it is today, the event has grown through the work of people who wanted to create a space for Latin American culture to be celebrated in Tauranga.
